About Miguel Chuquilin Arista

Miguel Chuquilin, MD, joined the faculty at the University of Florida in 2016. He received his medical degree from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru, in 2003. From 2010 to 2011, he completed a neurology residency and a neuromuscular medicine and EMG fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. He then joined the faculty at the University of Missouri in Columbia as an assistant professor of neurology in 2011. He served as the multidisciplinary treatment center director at the ALS clinic, which opened in 2015. He also served as an attending physician at the Muscular Dystrophy Association clinic at the University of Missouri in Columbia. At the University of Florida, he currently serves as the Neurology Clerkship and Neuromuscular Fellowship Director. He has received numerous teaching awards including the UF Faculty Didactic Clinical Educator and Didactic Educator Awards, UF Exemplary Teaching Award and the American Academy of Neurology A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award.

Dr. Chuquilin is board-certified in neurology, neuromuscular medicine and electrodiagnostic medicine. He is a member of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
