We are delighted to announce that Dr. Eric Wang, a faculty member in the Center for NeuroGenetics, has been awarded one of two 2023 Doctoral Dissertation Advisor/Mentoring Awards in the College of Medicine. This prestigious award recognizes Dr. Wang’s outstanding mentorship and guidance of graduate students in their research and scholarly pursuits.
Since joining the University of Florida in 2015, Dr. Wang has worked tirelessly to provide exceptional mentorship to his students. His dedication and commitment to their academic and personal growth are reflected in the many successful Ph.D. students he has graduated and the continuing Ph.D. students in his lab.
To date, Dr. Wang has successfully graduated five Ph.D. students and currently has nine continuing Ph.D. students in his lab. His approach to mentoring is characterized by his ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.
The Doctoral Dissertation Advisor/Mentoring Award is a highly competitive honor, and Dr. Wang’s selection for this award is a testament to his exceptional mentorship and the profound impact he has had on his students’ academic and personal growth.
