Impeding Transcription of Expanded Microsatellite Repeats by Deactivated Cas9

Drs. Eric Wang and Belinda Pinto have published new research in Molecular Cell this month.

Their research focuses on blocking the repetitive genetic sequences, found in microsatelitte diseases such as myotonic dystrophy types 1 and 2, using a deactivated form of Cas9 (dCas9).
